Clinical & Preventive Cardiology

Our clinical cardiology team is dedicated to patient wellness and endeavors to provide high standards in the diagnosis and management of cardiac diseases.

Our team is highly capable to handle cardiac emergencies and to also identify risk factors at an early stage and providing preventive techniques for heart-related diseases.

What We Treat

  • Coronary artery diseases (COD): Build-up of cholesterol and plaque in the coronary arteries may result in hardening and narrowing of the arteries. As the plaque builds up, the arteries become narrower and there is a decrease in blood flow through the heart and the heart is devoid of nutrients and oxygen.

The symptoms of CAD include angina (chest pain), arm pain or discomfort shortness of breath, and weakness. If left untreated, CAD may lead to heart failure or arrhythmias.

  • Heart failure: When the heart is unable to pump blood as efficiently as it should, there is a possibility of heart failure. There are 4 stages of heart failure (A, B, C & D) depending upon the risk and progression. Cardiac resynchronization therapy is a promising method in the treatment of heart failure. It uses a device called a biventricular pacemaker that sends electrical signals to the lower chambers of the heart.

  • Heart attack: A heart attack occurs when the blood that passes through the heart is suddenly blocked due to the presence of a blood clot or plaque in the arteries. A heart attack is a very critical emergency and medical facilities must be made available to the patient as early as possible. Dharma Vira heart Center has followed a no-delay angioplasty approach in cases of heart attack and this has given outstanding results.

  • Hypertension: Hypertension or high blood pressure is a leading cause of heart disease. Chronic hypertension leads to coronary artery disease, heart attacks, and heart failure.

  • Rheumatic fever: Rheumatic fever can affect the heart, joints, brain, and skin. If left untreated it may result in stroke and death. It is caused due to strep throat infection.
